How to make your blog look cute and professional!

Tuesday, 15 September 2015

So hi there everyone!
How has your weekend been? And how is your weekday going so far?!

I've only just started going back to college (I know, my college does things really late lmao) so I've been settling into my second year. It's only been two days and they have already given me 3 pieces of homework to do, I think that's a little crazy haha!

Since I updated my blog layout I've gotten a ton of questions on how to do certain things so I decided to move my original planned post to Thursday and get this post out for you guys as soon as possible.

 :

Before I begin I would just like to say that I actually bought my theme from the talented people at Kay Luxe Design. They're the masterminds of my blog layout and I didn't really do much at all, I just paid for it and installed the blog.

I bought the theme November because it was on sale, so I only had to pay £7 for it! To be honest this was nothing for me since that's pretty much my lunch money for two days. Other themes tend to range from £7 - £16 which I personally think is very reasonable since most theme makers sell them for at least £20.

If you want to check out their themes (And I really urge you to!) please click the cinnamon roll below!

Now time for the tips! This blog will include various html codes and general tips that I use to make my blog look cute, simple and professional. I like my blog to have my style incorporated to it so the tips I'm giving here are only things that I personally would use on my own blog~! They will only be a few things but I hope you find something useful to you!

Note; this is only for Blogger, but you can use some of this for other blogging platforms.
So let's begin!

Stick to one font in your posts
This will make your blog look much more consistent and neater. If you want to switch it up a little, change the colour of your text once in a while to make things stand out and look cute!

It should go from this;

To this;

Add a 'Read More' link to your posts.

When writing your posts, choose the place where you want to add the 'read more' button and click on 'Insert Jump Break' (this is the button that looks like a ripped paper, in between the film click-board image and the Alignment drop down).

Add page links
Blogger Dashboard >> Layout >> Pages >>  “Edit” link >> “+ Add external link”
Add a Page Title and a Web address (URL) for the page and click “Save”.

Remove the default blogger Navigation bar.
